What Is in Your Bag?

What’s In Your Bag uses the familiar social media trend as a starting point to examine how the objects people carry and the language they use to describe them reflect identity, personality, habits, and personal values. The project explores everyday belongings not simply as functional items, but as traces of memory, emotion, routine, and self expression that offer insight into how individuals construct and present themselves.

The project consists of two main parts. The physical component features a collection of essays that dissect the relationship between personal objects and identity, alongside a series of collected stories documenting the unusual or meaningful items people carry and the narratives attached to them. The digital component extends these stories into an interactive web and mobile experience that allows users to explore and navigate these personal narratives digitally.
