NY Popular Baby Names (2024)
This project is a website visualization that explores the most popular baby names in New York City from 2011 to 2019, categorized by gender (female and male) and four ethnic groups: Hispanic, Asian and Pacific Islander, Black Non-Hispanic, and White Non-Hispanic. By organizing and presenting the data in an interactive format, the project aims to reveal naming trends, cultural patterns, and shifts over time within different communities. Through the lens of something as personal and universal as naming, the visualization offers insights into identity and heritage across the city’s diverse population.
